Probably a Bitter Truth of Healthcare in Malaysia

Probably a bitter truth of healthcare in Malaysia.

☑️ 2/3 of hospitals and other health care centres in Malaysia are private. Yet they only cover 1/3 of the population.

☑️ 1/3 of hospitals and clinics are public but they cover 2/3 of population including immigrants.

☑️ MOH/MOE produce specialists using public fund but majority of them will end up at private sector.

☑️ Public health and MOH overall budget are smaller compared to other developed or even SEA nations.

☑️ Public and Private healthcare are competing with each other.

What we need now?

We need a health reform and political wills to make it happen.

**Facts are based on my personal observation, findings from subjects in my doctorate study and MOH Health Facts 2016.
